Self-composition, 2019
Stoneware, Glaze composition
Developed by the desire to feel allowed to be oneself. She dismantles the once whole pieces to examine two identities of which she is comprised. In a society with forced conformity through the educational and social environmental norms of her childhood, an identity was formed. She now begins to discover that the identities were not only created from outside pressure but the pressures that she put on herself. Taking what was given to her and constructing the pieces the way she wants.
