Born in Utah, Lauren Sievers was exposed to the wonders of the desert landscape from an early age. Surrounded by Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion National park and many other geological features that decorate the landscape have inspired and embedded their impression into her works. From her first encounter with clay and the ceramic world in high school served as fuel that would continue to drive her artistic passions. After taking a gap year abroad, she enrolled at Community College of Denver in the fall of 2015, where she studied painting and drawing. Longing to continue her clay practice, she established a clay studio in the fall of 2015. In pursuit to continue her higher education of the arts and cultures she transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder to study ceramics and Nordic studies in fall of 2017. To further immerse herself in Nordic culture and the Swedish language she studied abroad at Uppsala University in the spring of 2019. The following spring Lauren was accepted into the BFA program of the Art and Art History department at the University of Boulder. In the fall of 2020 she will graduate with her Bachelors of Fine Art with an emphasis in Ceramics and a minor in Nordic studies.
